Thinker cell in the room-in-room principle as a self-sufficient room element

Alzey II

room within a room and glass acoustics for a functional, acoustically optimized office space

Lufthansa Technik Aero Alzey (LTAA) will put its new building into operation in spring 2019. The million-dollar project expanded the workshop space in the basement by ten percent. New office space was created on the upper floors. The permanent spatial expansion reflects the success of the Lufthansa subsidiary, which was carefully built up and designed for the long term. In 1987, the Lufthansa subsidiary LTAA settled in the Alzey industrial area. Currently around 600 people work here. Annual sales in 2017 were around 470 million euros.

We, woodtec, are proud to have supported and established this company for over 10 years. People rely on woodtec when it comes to the functional and economical settlement of office space. In particular, the area metrics and the associated topic of acoustics are always in focus. Two years previously, Aero tested our silnetUNIT and vetroCUBE systems on a pilot area (see previous report). The systems have now been used over a large area, over two floors, and demonstrate how well the concept works. The workstations are acoustically well isolated from each other by the silentUNIT sound shields. Nevertheless, the direct relationships between colleagues remain intact as a basis for good and fast communication. Room in room units are available in the middle zone. Conversations and teamwork can take place here without disturbing the work space. The same applies here: high transparency and good acoustics are not a contradiction.
