Akustikmodul mit Hochleistungsabsorbern auf Glasflächen.

The quiet module optimizes the room acoustics

Sound screens support communication in open space and improve room acoustics

There were three obligations in the booklet for the development of the rest module. The acoustic module must not restrict transparency. This led to the use of frameless glass surfaces. The sound shield must reduce the reverberation time and at the same time contain the direct propagation of sound. Taken together, these requirements ultimately lead to the silentUNIT glass acoustic system. The quiet module is a combination of frameless glass surfaces and acoustic sound screens.

Glass acoustic transparent

  • Transparent all-glass walls
  • Sound insulation
  • High-performance absorber class A
  • Absorber 60 mm, apha W = 0.6
  • Absorber 80 mm, alpha w = 0.9
  • Absorber 100 mm, alpha W = 0.95
  • Installation height up to 3400 mm
  • also without ceiling connection

Acoustic sound shields reduce the direct propagation of sound for improved sound insulation

The acoustic module, the sound screen, adds high-performance absorbers to all-glass walls at acoustically sensible positions. These broadband absorbers comply with acoustic classification A in accordance with DIN EN 11654.

The following values were measured, whereby it should be noted that the test setup corresponds exactly to the real assembly situation:

Absorber thickness 60 mm: apha W = 0.6
Absorber thickness 80 mm: alpha w = 0.9
Absorber thickness 100 mm: alpha W = 0.95

By using acoustic screens, the planner achieves a significant reduction in sound projection at relevant points and therefore improved room acoustics. Different teams can be placed close together without disturbing each other. Technical areas, meeting points and work cafés can be effectively acoustically shielded with the quiet modules. The open-plan office is kept together visually. The visual relationships between colleagues are deliberately strengthened. The character of a modern, open, transparent and communicative office space is retained and the glass acoustics are reverberantly improved.

Acoustic module with safety glazing as required

Depending on the installation height, the glass surfaces of the sound screen consist of 10 to 12 mm thick single-pane safety glass (ESG). This ensures good sound insulation and prevents sound from spreading throughout the room. The ESG glazing provides sufficient insulation for use in open office environments. If closed rooms also need to be created, we use 12 mm LSG glazing. The related product soloVETRO.

The sound screen is mounted on a melamine support if room height is required. If the sound screens are not to be installed across the entire surface, they can be mounted directly on the glass surfaces. This makes parapet glazing and skylight glazing possible, but still guarantees adequate sound insulation.

High-performance class A absorber made from recycled materials - Acoustic sound screen

The high-performance absorbers of the acoustic module are 60, 80 or 1000 mm thick and consist of micro-perforated metal cassettes. The absorbers are coated in accordance with RAL. The cassettes of the quiet module are equipped with a high-performance acoustic filling, a polyester fleece, to provide optimum sound insulation in accordance with VDI guidelines. This polyester fleece is a recycled product. It is made from the granulate from drinks bottles, for example. Contact with polyester wool is harmless and does not cause allergic reactions, skin irritation or breathing problems. The acoustic filling does not form dust and is free from chemical binders. It is 100% recyclable. The acoustic material has been tested and meets all human-ecological requirements according to Standard 100 OEKO-TEX.

High-performance absorber for mounting on the wall

The absorbers of the acoustic modules can easily be mounted on the wall. This means that existing individual offices, group offices or even communication rooms can be acoustically optimized very easily. Using the wall absorber has the advantage of being independent of lights, smoke detectors or sprinkler systems. To calculate the necessary absorption area in typical office applications, an acoustic simulation can be offered upon request.

Space efficiency

The glass acoustic system can be installed independently of the façade, enabling intensive use of the available space.

room acoustics

The acoustic system reduces sound propagation and reverberation time. silentUNIT maintains transparency for direct visual relationships.

Electification

The silentUNIT acoustic shield can be electrified ready for use on request. Sockets can be installed in the absorbers and pre-wired internally.

Without ceiling connection

The silentUNIT quiet module can also be positioned free-standing without a connection to the ceiling. The truss system makes this possible.

Construction

The acoustic system is designed as a modular system. It can be installed room-high or under a self-supporting truss.

Solutions

The resting module is individually designed for the intended use and the building. Among other things, it is adapted to the given room height and furniture formats.
